Man assaulted, truck stolen in North Battleford robbery

A man was assaulted and his truck stolen during an early-morning altercation in North Battleford on Sunday.

Battlefords RCMP received a report of the robbery at approximately 3:50 a.m. on May 25, near the intersection of Battleford Road and Railway Avenue.

Officers responding to the scene determined an altercation had taken place between a group of people. During that altercation, an adult male was assaulted and his truck was taken.

The victim reported non-life-threatening injuries to police. EMS transported him to hospital for further assessment.

Police located the stolen truck shortly after. A woman found inside the vehicle was arrested at the scene and later released without charge.

The investigation is ongoing. Battlefords RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the Battleford Road and Railway Avenue area early Sunday morning to contact police at 310-RCMP.
