Three taxi companies banned from operating in Lloydminster have lost their appeal, and the city’s approved operator list has grown in their absence.

The City of Lloydminster confirmed earlier this month that the appeals committee has upheld the refusal of Taxi Broker applications for Viper Taxi, Border Taxi and Courtesy Cabs. The three companies were denied licences for the 2026-2029 period earlier this year.
The city says the refusals stem from the brokers’ inability to operate within the requirements of Taxi and Vehicle for Hire Bylaw 17-2025.
With the appeal process now complete, the bans are final. None of the three companies are authorized to operate within city limits or accept fares through the Seniors Taxi Program.
The city’s list of approved operators has also expanded since the original refusals were announced in February. Two companies – EZ-Go Taxi and Aero Cabs – have since received approval to operate in Lloydminster, bringing the total number of licensed brokers to seven.
Companies currently authorized to operate in Lloydminster are:
- Co-op Taxi
- Kings Cabs
- Yellow Cabs
- Fil-Canadian Taxi
- Lloyd Taxi
- EZ-Go Taxi
- Aero Cabs
Residents – particularly those using the Seniors Taxi Program – are encouraged to confirm their ride is coming from an approved provider before booking. Updated information is available at lloydminster.ca/Taxi.
