Update 2:50 – Some old tires are burning and have ignited some remains of an old structure which had been knocked it down.
At 2:33 p.m. this afternoon (Aug. 1) Loon Lake firefighters were dispatched to a fire which has reached a structure on the old town site.
The original dispatch is heavy black smoke coming from behind the school on that site and it smells like burning rubber.
Multiple emergency vehicles from the Department are on route. Please give all vehicles the proper space to operate safely. Pull over and stop when they are approaching. Follow all instructions provided by emergency personnel in the area.
