Emergency crews evacuated the Lloydminster Museum + Archives Thursday morning after a staff member reported smelling something unusual.

The evacuation happened at approximately 10:30 a.m. Multiple emergency vehicles as well as ATCO were on scene when BorderPulse arrived, and museum staff were gathered in the parking lot.

Leo Paré, director of communications for the City of Lloydminster, confirmed the evacuation was precautionary.

“The museum is currently under a precautionary evacuation as a staff member believed they smelled something,” said Paré.

Emergency crews remained on scene as of this report. No cause has been confirmed.
