Lloydminster city council’s Governance and Priorities Committee meets Today at 1:30 p.m. in council chambers to review a rewritten customer conduct policy, a downtown redevelopment update and a proposed rezoning near 38 Street.

The draft Customer Conduct Policy replaces “suspension” with “trespass notice” throughout. It adds racism and discrimination as named violations for the first time. The minimum notice length rises from three days to five. Administration presents the policy after what it calls a rise in uncivil behaviour at city facilities.

Planning services will also present a proposed rezoning of 0.514 hectares near 38 Street and 42 Avenue, changing seven lots from low to medium density residential. Five nearby landowners responded during the public referral period, along with five internal city departments.

The Downtown Area Redevelopment Committee delivers its annual update, reporting 4.5 million dollars in capital investment tied to the first phase of central business district improvements. The committee also reports a completed parking study and new façade improvement grants for downtown property owners.

Council will also receive the city’s 2026 Accessibility Plan, a facility-by-facility review responding to the Accessible Saskatchewan Act.

The meeting includes time for media inquiries and is expected to move into a closed session afterward.
