Lakeland College Free Tax Clinic
Residents needing help with their income taxes will have another opportunity this week as Lakeland College students host free tax clinics in Lloydminster.
The clinics are designed to support low-income individuals, families, students, seniors and newcomers to Canada, offering no-cost assistance with filing income tax returns.
Twelve business administration students, trained through the Canadian Volunteer Income Tax Program, will complete returns under instructor supervision. The clinics give students hands-on experience while helping meet a real community need.
Four students are returning for a second year, allowing them to build on their experience and support newer participants in the program.
The clinics take place in the Allan Markin Room at the Lloydminster campus, with both walk-in and booked appointments available.
Participants should bring government-issued ID, their social insurance number, direct deposit banking details and all relevant tax documents, including slips and receipts for deductions such as childcare, medical expenses and RRSP contributions.
Upcoming clinic times:
- April 9, 4 to 7 p.m.
- April 10, 1 to 4 p.m.
Appointments can be booked by emailing tax.clinics@lakelandcollege.ca or calling 780-871-5780.
The service is available to those who meet income eligibility requirements.
