Cold Lake RCMP arrested a wanted man on a Canada-Wide Warrant Monday after he attempted to flee officers in a stolen pickup truck on the Elizabeth Metis Settlement.
Police received a tip about the suspect’s whereabouts at 9 a.m. on May 25. Officers from Cold Lake RCMP, Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services from St. Paul and Cold Lake, the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, and Cold Lake’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft System team moved to locate him.
The man was found operating a stolen pickup truck and driving dangerously as he attempted to escape. Officers used a tactical vehicle intervention technique, known as a Pitt manoeuvre, to disable the truck and take him into custody.
