A Lloydminster-area singer-songwriter is heading to Nashville after landing a nomination for a prestigious international music award.
Caroline Parke, who raises cattle on a farm near Lloydminster, has been nominated for a 2026 Josie Music Award in the Multi-Genre Album category.
The nomination recognizes her album All The Moving Parts, released worldwide in January 2026.
Parke was chosen from more than 101,000 applications. She is one of nine nominees in her category.
“Receiving this nomination is a huge win for me,” said Parke. “I see it as a vote of confidence from a jury of my peers.”
Parke plans to attend the awards ceremony later this year at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was also recently welcomed as a Recording Academy GRAMMY Voting Member.
Parke describes All The Moving Parts as a celebration of rural life in Alberta. The album charted in CKUA Radio’s Top 30 and drew praise from FLEX Magazine, which called it “a record steeped in prairie air and hard-earned perspective.”
Parke learned of the nomination by email in September, weeks after it was first posted online.
“I paused in the hot sun to go to their website,” said Parke. “Sure enough, there I was. Nominated in a multi-genre category I hadn’t even heard of.”
She plans to spend the rest of 2026 recording her next album, with a release planned for spring 2027.
“This nomination will propel me through the winter months,” said Parke. “Every time I think about it, I’ll remember I’m on the right track.”
Parke performs Friday at noon on the Showcase Stage at the Vermilion Fair. Her daughter, Susan, opens the show with a 25-minute fiddle performance.
