Cut Knife RCMP have arrested two individuals now facing charges after a stolen vehicle chase on Little Pine First Nation.
On July 15, officers received a report of a vehicle driving erratically on the First Nation. Investigators believed a person wanted by police could be inside.
Officers found the vehicle, but it fled. They later located it abandoned in a field behind a house.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services and Critical Incident Response Team helped arrest four people at the residence.
Police confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Minburn, Alta., on July 12.
Kyle Lajimodiere, 27, of Cold Lake, Alta., is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of ammunition contrary to order, contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
Lajimodiere was also arrested on a Correctional Service Canada warrant for a parole breach.
He appeared in North Battleford provincial court on July 16. His case is tracked under Information #90596988.
Terri Fox, 23, of Sweetgrass First Nation, was arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court on earlier charges of possession of property obtained by crime and failing to stop after an accident.
She appeared in North Battleford provincial court on July 16, under Information.
The other two people arrested were released without charge.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
Cut Knife RCMP continue to investigate. Police are still working to identify the person believed to have been driving the vehicle when it fled.
