10:23 p.m. – Readers have updated stating an SUV and pick-up are involved. Eastbound lanes are closed in the area. Firefighters are expecting to be doing traffic control for many hours. Reports are that RCMP is awaiting a traffic analyst.
STARS air ambulance, Land EMS, RCMP and firefighters from both Paynton and Maidstone are responding to reports of a two-vehicle collision approximately 8 km’s west of Paynton on Highway 16.
There are no details about vehicles involved or injuries.
Please avoid the area if possible. A landing zone has been requested for the incoming STARS helicopter.
