Two people face a combined 44 charges after a firearms report and a police chase on Red Pheasant Cree Nation, Battlefords RCMP said Thursday.

Police received a report around 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 15 of people with firearms entering a residence. The occupants did not report injuries.

Officers patrolled the area and found the suspects driving on a nearby rural road. RCMP said the suspects did not stop for a traffic stop and fled.

Police stopped them on Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation. They were arrested without incident.

A search of the vehicle turned up two firearms, police said. Searches of the two people turned up a small amount of suspected cocaine, 34 MDMA pills and several pharmaceutical-style pills.

Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services assisted.
