RCMP are investigating a homicide after a 30-year-old man was found deceased at a residence in Vermilion.
On Jan. 21, 2026, at approximately 12:12 p.m., Vermilion RCMP were called to a residence on 52 Avenue, where the male resident was located deceased.
Police secured the scene and spoke with the individual who discovered the body. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the homicide investigation. Lloydminster RCMP Forensic Identification Section also attended the scene to assist.
An autopsy is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2026, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.
A male was arrested at the scene but has since been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
RCMP say further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
