Lloydminster council will review policing priorities, waste management planning, and development bylaws when the Governance and Priorities Committee meets this afternoon.

The meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. inside council chambers at City Hall.

One of the first presentations will come from the Lloydminster Municipal Police Committee, which will deliver its annual report to council.

Darrell Dunn, chair of the committee, is scheduled to present the report outlining the committee’s work and oversight of policing in the community.

Councillors will then hear a presentation on the RCMP detachment profile and the 2026 Community Priorities Plan, which outlines policing priorities and trends in the region.

Administration is also expected to provide updates on several major municipal initiatives.

Karen Gana-Dela Rosa, director of environment services, will present Phase 2 of the Integrated Waste Management and Facility Master Plan.

The plan looks at long-term waste handling and infrastructure needs for the city.

They will also receive a 2025 statistics report from Leisure and Parks Services, providing an overview of usage trends and programming.

Several bylaw matters are also on the agenda.

Administration will present an update to the proposed 2026 Off-Site Levy Bylaw, which governs how developers contribute to infrastructure costs tied to new growth.

A review of a land use bylaw amendment affecting a Lakeside property and proposed revisions to the city’s road closure bylaw is also on the agenda.

The Governance and Priorities Committee is responsible for reviewing major policy items and administration reports before they move forward to regular council meetings.

The meeting is open to the public and will also be streamed online through the city’s website.
