A Lloydminster man turned himself in to RCMP in connection with damage to the Lloydminster Exhibition grounds overnight June 12-13.
He was issued a ticket under Section 213 of the Saskatchewan Traffic Safety Act for driving without due care and attention. The offence carries a fine of $580 and four demerit points. No criminal charges were laid. As per policy RCMP did not release his name.
The incident began just after midnight June 13, when a vehicle destroyed a fence and careened through the exhibition grounds. Cpl. Mat Howell, public information officer with RCMP “K” Division, said police received a report at 12:19 a.m. Officers conducted extensive patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.

The Lloydminster Exhibition Association posted an appeal to social media Saturday morning, offering fair passes and midway access to anyone whose tip helped identify the driver.
“Incidents like [this] hurt us financially as well as our staff and volunteers’ time to clean up,” the association said.
The Exhibition is a non-profit organization that operates multiple annual events in our community.
