The Lloydminster Men’s Shelter will have some big shoes to fill as its executive director has tendered his resignation.
Sources close to the decision informed The Border Pulse that Kagan Kneen’s final day will be Dec. 5.
Kneen declined to comment publicly about his resignation but confirmed he plans to remain in the community.
He led several major initiatives during his tenure, including organizing the first-ever Run for Shelter event this past summer and running across two provinces in 2024 to raise awareness and funds for the shelter.
Under his leadership, the organization refocused its meal services to prioritize clients staying within the facility and redesigned the exterior to improve accessibility and security.
Kneen also guided ongoing efforts to expand the shelter’s capacity and explore new housing options to better meet community needs.
The shelter’s next scheduled board meeting is set for Nov. 26.
