At approximately 6 p.m. on March 5, a reader notified The Border Pulse about several Lloydminster RCMP vehicles at the Canco gas station located at 44 Street and 52 Avenue.

During that interaction, officers detained the individual. Police later confirmed the person was released.

Officials did not provide details on why the individual was detained.

Police sometimes detain individuals temporarily while they investigate a situation or ensure the safety of those involved. A detention does not necessarily mean a person has been formally arrested or charged with an offence.

The identity of the individual has not been released.
