At approximately 3 a.m. on May 3, Britannia Fire Department (BFD) was alerted to their fourth call of the year north of the city.
A passer-by had alerted 911 to a car ablaze about 20 km’s north of Lloydminster. It was in faced southbound on Highway 17.
BFD attended with their tanker, new pumper and command one.

It “was quickly knocked down and cooled off for the tow company to come retrieve,” stated the department on their Facebook page.
Maidstone RCMP were alerted to the incident but were not required to attend the scene according to Saskatchewan RCMP communications representatives.
