Crews returned to station after spending nearly 7 hours extinguishing the blaze.
A falling tree brought down a power line and sparked a grass fire in Britannia early Sunday morning, drawing a large response from the local fire department.
Britannia Fire Department was called out at 7:35 a.m. to the scene located approximately 5 km’s east of Hillmond. Command 1, Command 2, Tanker 1, Pumper 1, Wildland 1, and a wildland side-by-side all responded to the scene.
SaskPower crews also attended and worked alongside BFD members to make the downed line safe before they could fully attack the blaze.
Crews soaked down all hotspots before clearing the scene. All units were back in the hall by 2:00 p.m., a response of just under six and a half hours.
BFD thanked SaskPower for the quick on-scene response.
