A third alarm was activated Saturday evening after a structure fire was reported in a detached garage on 46B Close.
Witnesses who contacted The Border Pulse said there was significant smoke coming from the structure when fire crews arrived.
According to city officials, Lloydminster Fire Rescue responded to the garage fire at 7:38 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7.
“Crews arrived on scene at 7:43 p.m. and brought the fire under control shortly after,” city officials said. “The fire was contained to the rear corner of the garage, and no structural damage to the building was reported. All units cleared the scene at approximately 9 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.”
City staff said calls reporting a structure fire are automatically upgraded to ensure sufficient personnel and equipment are available.
The practice also allows on-duty crews to maintain coverage for other incidents while firefighters are committed to a working fire.
