A social media video posted around 6:45 a.m. Monday showed a vehicle on fire on Lloydminster’s west end.
Lloydminster Fire Rescue responded and found what appears to be a hydrovac truck fully involved in flames on the service road where utilities are being laid along the west side of 75 Ave., just south of the 7-Eleven.
Firefighters quickly contained the blaze and brought the situation under control.
Photos taken after the fire show the cab of the truck completely destroyed. The large vacuum tank on the back of the vehicle appears to have remained intact, suggesting any material inside the tank stayed contained.

By about 7:30 a.m., fire crews had cleared the scene. Workers from a private company were seen surveying the damage while another pump truck waited nearby to enter the service road.
The cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage have not been released.
Hydrovac units built on Western Star truck chassis can cost more than $250,000 when new, making them one of the more expensive specialized vehicles used on construction and utility projects.
