Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after RCMP say methamphetamine was found hidden inside a pizza box during a traffic stop in Battleford.
Battlefords RCMP conducted the stop as part of an ongoing investigation led by Unity RCMP. Officers arrested an adult male and an adult female at the scene.
Police later obtained a warrant to search the vehicle, which was towed to a secure facility.
During that search, officers located approximately 126 grams of suspected methamphetamine concealed inside a pizza box. The substance has been seized and will undergo further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Melvin Abramson, 70, and Micayla Jimmy, 26, have each been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Both appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 30.
Unity RCMP credited Battlefords RCMP for their assistance in the investigation.
