Two men are facing charges after a disturbance at the Lloydminster fair Saturday night left an RCMP officer injured.
Lloydminster RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance at the fairgrounds at 10:48 p.m. July 11. Officers located an intoxicated man who had made numerous attempts to instigate fights with fair attendees.
While officers were arresting the man, he resisted and failed to comply with their directions. A second man then became involved and assaulted one of the responding officers.
Quincy Wolfe, 37, of Saskatoon, was charged with overcoming resistance, assaulting a peace officer causing bodily harm, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and causing a disturbance.
Pierson Wolfe, 31, of Onion Lake, Sask., was charged with assault, assaulting a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, causing a disturbance, and failing to comply with an order.
Both men were remanded into custody following judicial interim release hearings and are scheduled to appear in Saskatchewan Court of Justice in Lloydminster on July 13.
RCMP thanked the public for their assistance during the incident. Video shows multiple citizens jumping in to help pull one of the suspects off the officer. The officer than used his conducted energy weapon to subdue the individual.
