Accused traffickers released after bust in Wainwright

Two Wainwright residents are facing drug trafficking and weapons charges after Alberta RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on 14 Street last week.

The investigation began April 29 when the Alberta RCMP Community Response Team stopped a vehicle and seized drugs. Police arrested an adult female.

The following day, officers returned with the Wainwright RCMP detachment and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services to execute a search warrant at the residence. A second arrest was made.

Police seized cocaine, a firearm and Canadian currency during the investigation.

Tracy Goddard, 57, is charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Rosa Laliberte, 29, is charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Both were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at 9:30 a.m. on June 18 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wainwright.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
