A Thunderchild First Nation woman is facing her second drug trafficking charge in less than two months after a Meadow Lake RCMP traffic stop led to the seizure of methamphetamine, cocaine and weapons from a stolen SUV.
Micayla Jimmy, 26, was previously charged in March alongside a 70-year-old man after RCMP found 126 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside a pizza box during a traffic stop in Battleford. She appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 30 on that charge.
On May 11 at approximately 5:45 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan officers initiated a traffic stop on Thunderchild First Nation after spotting an SUV matching the description of a stolen vehicle. Investigation confirmed the vehicle was stolen. Officers arrested all three occupants.
A search of the SUV turned up 94 grams of methamphetamine, 11 grams of cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, an imitation firearm and other weapons.
Jimmy, along with Ashton Martell, 35, and Tariq Nicotine, 27, both also of Thunderchild First Nation, each face:
- One count, possession of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, s. 85(1)(a), Criminal Code
- One count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, s. 355(a), Criminal Code
- Three counts, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, s. 88(1), Criminal Code
- One count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, s. 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- One count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, s. 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Jimmy faces three additional charges:
- One count, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, s. 355(b), Criminal Code
- Two counts, fail to comply, s. 145(5)(a), Criminal Code
All three appeared in Onion Lake Provincial Court on May 13.
