A man charged after pointing a replica firearm at people inside Lloydminster City Hall in January has been sentenced to months in custody.
Stephen Thunderblanket, 35, of Cut Knife pleaded guilty in Lloydminster Provincial Court to charges connected to the Jan. 8 incident.
Court records show Thunderblanket received a global sentence of 120 days in custody, to be served intermittently, on charges of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public and possessing property under $5,000 obtained by crime.
He was credited with 62 days already served, leaving 58 days left to serve.
On a separate charge of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, Thunderblanket received 45 days in custody and 12 months of probation.
Two other charges laid in January, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence and carrying a concealed weapon, were withdrawn.
Court records also show an order tied to the disposition of the seized replica firearm and note a related warrant was recalled.
RCMP arrested Thunderblanket without incident on Jan. 8 after intercepting him as he left the City Hall area. Officers determined at the time that the firearm was a replica and confirmed no one was injured.
