A 7-11 location in east Lloydminster is set to close later this month, as the company moves forward with a broader plan to shut down hundreds of stores across North America.
A notice obtained by The Border Pulse shows the store at 4702 44 St. will close permanently on April 28, 2026.
The document, sent to vendors, confirms the closure and directs all final accounting to be completed within 30 days of the shutdown date.
No official public announcement has been made locally, and it remains unclear how many employees will be affected.

Company planning hundreds of closures
The closure comes as the parent company for 7-11, Seven & i Holdings, prepares to shut down 645 locations across North America over the next year.
The move is part of a larger cost-cutting effort ahead of a planned U.S. stock market listing of its North American operations.
According to company filings, the closures represent roughly five per cent of its 12,000-plus stores across the continent.
Some locations may not disappear entirely. In certain cases, stores will convert to fuel-only operations, meaning the convenience store portion closes while gas pumps remain active.
Local questions remain
There has been no confirmation from 7-11 on whether other Lloydminster or area locations are affected.
The company has also not said whether the east Lloyd store closure is tied directly to the broader North American reduction plan or local factors.
Residents reacting online have pointed to ongoing concerns around safety, theft, and loitering in the area, though those claims have not been officially confirmed as reasons for the closure.
For now, the April 28 closure date appears to be the only confirmed timeline.
The Border Pulse has reached out to 7-Eleven for comment and will update this story when more information becomes available.
