Lloydminster RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects after counterfeit banknotes were passed at several local businesses.
Police say between July 1 and Dec. 12, 2025, officers received 17 reports of counterfeit currency being used at retail locations in Lloydminster.
According to RCMP, similar incidents have also been reported in the Edmonton area, and investigators believe the occurrences may be related.
The investigation has identified two suspects, one male and one female, who are believed to have attended local businesses and made purchases using counterfeit banknotes.
RCMP say suspect photos have been obtained and are being released as part of the investigation.
