Maidstone RCMP are looking for two men and a woman after a backhoe was stolen from a Lashburn, Sask., business early Sept. 30.

Police received the report of a break and enter and theft that day. The business is on 1 Street East. Investigators believe the crime happened between about 12:15 and 1:55 a.m.

The suspects drove the backhoe off the property and headed east through Lashburn, RCMP said. The machine is a yellow and black John Deere.

Police believe the suspects were driving a blue car. They describe the suspects this way:

Male 1: black baseball hat, black hoodie and black pants
Male 2: dark hooded jacket and dark pants
Female: brown jacket, brown overalls, brown work boots, purple scarf and gloves. She has long brown or black hair with purple streaks.

RCMP said a grey car seen in the video footage with the woman is not the suspects’ vehicle. It has no link to the theft.

Police are asking residents and businesses for dash cam or surveillance video. They want footage from the Lashburn area on the late evening of Sept. 29 or early Sept. 30. Video that captures the suspects, their vehicle or the backhoe could help.

Anyone who recognizes the people in the video or the stolen backhoe should call Maidstone RCMP at 310-RCMP. Tips can also go anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at saskcrimestoppers.com.
