A man who remained at large for weeks following a multi-agency manhunt near Onion Lake has been arrested and released on conditions.
Aaron Chief, 44, of Onion Lake, appeared in Lloydminster Provincial Court on June 10 and was released on conditions, according to a report by SaskToday.
Chief had been wanted since May 17, when Onion Lake RCMP tried to pull over a speeding vehicle at about 5:10 p.m. The driver refused to stop.
The vehicle came to a stop near Frenchman Butte. Two occupants fled on foot while two others were arrested at the scene. A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded firearm.

The Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team, North Battleford Police Dog Services, and Combined Traffic Services all joined the search. A police dog tracked one suspect approximately five kilometres before he was apprehended.
Chief was not among those initially arrested. A warrant was issued for his arrest on several charges, he was subsequently arrested June 4.

- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Resist/obstruct peace officer
- Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition without licence or registration
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession was unauthorized
- Possession contrary to order

All charges are allegations. Chief is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
