A 49-year-old Lloydminster man, Brett Zilliges, is facing drug and firearms charges after Saskatchewan RCMP seized cocaine, methamphetamine and two firearms from a city home on Sept. 9.

The arrest is part of the Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Teams (SERT) September summary, released by RCMP this month.

Across the province, SERT made 46 arrests and laid 39 charges last month. Officers executed 44 warrant arrests and facilitated 11 search warrants.

They also seized seven firearms, 773 grams of cocaine and 30 grams of methamphetamine.

SERT includes Crime Reduction Teams, the Human Trafficking and Counter Exploitation Unit, the Offender Management Unit, trafficking response teams and Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Teams. RCMP say the units target serious and gang-related crime.

Other September highlights included:

  • Sept. 9 to 12: Officers ran a four-day crime suppression initiative in the Battlefords area.
  • Sept. 16: Yorkton STRT arrested an adult male and seized 701 grams of cocaine, 85 pills of unknown composition, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
  • Sept. 17: Prince Albert’s Crime Reduction Team arrested 12 people and seized six firearms and 28 grams of cocaine.

Supt. Andrew Farquhar of SERT said the results show the value of focused enforcement.

“These results demonstrate the impact of focused, intelligence-led enforcement across Saskatchewan. SERT teams are identifying and targeting individuals and criminal activity that pose a significant risk to our communities,” said Farquhar.

“Every arrest, seizure and investigation contributes to our broader goal of making Saskatchewan communities safer.”
