A routine traffic stop in Lloydminster has led to a significant drug and weapons seizure, with two Saskatchewan men facing multiple charges.
According to RCMP, members conducted the stop within city limits on Oct. 30, 2025. During the interaction, officers observed signs of offences under the Excise Act and arrested both the driver and passenger for possession of unstamped tobacco.
A subsequent vehicle search uncovered approximately 13 grams of cocaine, 23 grams of fentanyl, cash, a .410 shotgun with a defaced serial number, and ammunition.
Charged are Riley Lawlor, 33, of Regina, and Tanner McIvor, 20, of Gravelbourg.
Lawlor faces six charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon contrary to order, and failing to comply with a release order. He was remanded into custody and will appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Nov. 3.
McIvor faces four charges including unsafe storage of firearms and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was released on conditions and will appear in court on Nov. 17.
“This seizure demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the Lloydminster RCMP to remove illegal drugs and firearms from our community,” said Sgt. Christopher Byford of the Lloydminster RCMP. “Our members remain focused on proactive enforcement efforts that enhance public safety.”
