Officers transported the victim after ambulance response time was estimated at 40 minutes.
A 25-year-old woman was attacked with bear mace in Lloydminster early Sunday morning, prompting RCMP to drive her to hospital after an ambulance was estimated to be 40 minutes away.
Lloydminster RCMP responded to the area of 49 Avenue and 46 Street at approximately 6 a.m. on May 17.
According to K division PIO Mat Howell, Officers arrived to find the woman suffering the effects of bear mace exposure. With ambulance response estimated at up to 40 minutes, police did not wait. They transported her to hospital directly.
The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. Police have identified a suspect and the investigation is continuing.
