Emergency crews are on scene of a vehicle-in-the-ditch collision on Highway 16 Friday evening as snowpack conditions made roads dangerously slippery across the region.

Legacy Region Protective Services firefighters were dispatched at 5:12 p.m. The vehicle was clear of the roadway by the time Chief Dean Peters arrived on scene.

“Everything is under control there, everybody’s off the road,” Peters said.

No injuries were reported.

Peters said the snowpack on area highways was the bigger concern Friday.

“Snowpack highways are the news – it is treacherously slippery out there,” he said.

Motorists are urged to slow down, increase following distance, and check road conditions before travelling.
