Bonnyville RCMP are responding to a firearm-related incident in Bonnyville and have asked nearby residents to shelter in place.
Police said the incident is unfolding on 46 Avenue between 39 Street and 41 Street. Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services and other police units are also involved.
Residents in the area are being told to stay inside while officers respond. The public is also being asked to avoid the area.
Police have asked people not to post photos of the police response until the incident has been resolved.
No further details about the incident or any injuries were released.
Police said an update will be provided once the shelter-in-place order is lifted or if more information becomes available.
