Two teenagers are facing serious charges following a homicide investigation in North Battleford.
Battlefords RCMP were called around 7:45 a.m. on March 13 to a report of an injured man in a business parking lot off the Highway 16 Bypass.
Officers arrived and located a 30-year-old man from North Battleford who was declared dead at the scene by EMS. Police say his family has been notified.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit took over the investigation shortly afterward.
Police say two adult males were arrested at the business and have now been charged in connection with the man’s death.
Investigators allege one of the suspects assaulted another individual inside the business and pointed a firearm at them. Police say the two suspects also confined the person to a room before the victim was later transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Kojac Adams, 19, of North Battleford is charged with first-degree murder, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon and pointing a firearm.
Garren Baptiste, 19, also of North Battleford, is charged with manslaughter and forcible confinement.
Both are scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 16.
The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from Battlefords RCMP detachment officers, the municipal General Investigation Section, the North Battleford Serious Crimes Unit and RCMP forensic identification services.
Police say no further details are available at this time.
