A Lloydminster business is offering a $500 reward after a hit and run left one of their drivers unemployed and their vehicle destroyed.
Speedy Delivery Lloydminster says one of its vehicles was struck around 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 14 by a pickup truck that appeared to have been travelling in the wrong lane on 59 Avenue before attempting to turn the wrong way onto Highway 16.
According to a statement posted by the company, the truck narrowly missed another vehicle, entered the turning lane, then collided head on with their vehicle. The driver, a single mother, is now unable to work while the investigation continues.
The collision did not end there.
Speedy Delivery says the pickup then reversed and rammed the van a second time before fleeing the scene by jumping a curb into a nearby parking lot. The company believes the truck could have deployed its airbag during the impact.
A video of the incident has since been posted online, and the business believes the vehicle is a dark-coloured 2004 to 2008 Ford pickup.
RCMP investigating
Lloydminster RCMP confirm they are investigating the crash.
A $500 reward is now being offered by Speedy Delivery for information that helps identify the driver or vehicle involved. More footage is expected to be posted in the coming days as the business collects additional video from the area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lloydminster RCMP’s non-emergency line, Crime Stoppers or Speedy Delivery.
