At approximately 11:40 p.m. July 7, Lloydminster RCMP responded to reports of a collision on 57 Ave near 42 St.

Upon arrival they located a vehicle abandoned in the middle of the roadway. It had come to rest after striking a passenger vehicle.

According to witnesses, some individuals left the vehicle before the arrival of the Mounties and Lloydminster Fire Rescue. Lloydminster K9 Rad was deployed to track the suspects. There is no word on if he located anyone.

S/Sgt. Bruce MacLean provided the following update.

“One person (was) taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing at this time,” stated MacLean “If anyone has any information regarding this incident, contact Lloydminster RCMP.”

The roadway was closed for approximately an hour while the investigation and clean-up occurred.
