Sept 11 collision 44 62 2 of 4 scaled

A transport truck and an SUV collided at 62 Avenue and 44 Street shortly after 9 a.m. Friday, closing lanes and backing up traffic.

BorderPulse was on scene shortly after the crash. A white SUV had suffered serious damage to the driver’s side and a smashed rear window, and had come to rest on the northwest corner of the intersection.

A transport truck registered out of Winnipeg, Manitoba was stopped about 150 feet west of the crash site.

Lloydminster RCMP, fire crews and EMS responded. No one appeared to be taken to hospital by EMS at the scene.

Westbound lanes were reduced while crews cleared the intersection. Traffic backed up toward the BVD Truck Stop, formerly the Husky location.

A witness who was stopped at the intersection told BorderPulse they believed the truck had a green light when the collision happened.

“I was in the intersection waiting to turn left when I heard the bang,” the witness said.

The witness said they did not see the moment of impact and asked not to be named. They told BorderPulse they filed a report with RCMP after the crash.
