A Lloydminster man facing hate-related and firearms charges has had his case adjourned for election for a second time.
John Reid’s matter was listed in Saskatchewan Provincial Court on Feb. 23 and was again adjourned for election until March 9, 2026.

What “election” means
An election in criminal court allows the accused to choose how they wish to be tried – by a provincial court judge alone or by judge and jury in Court of King’s Bench.
Reid is facing hate-crime related charges along with firearms offences stemming from an investigation first announced by Lloydminster RCMP earlier this year.
At the time, police stated there was no imminent threat to the public.
