The City of Lloydminster has launched a new program aimed at helping police and municipal enforcement respond more quickly to trespassing and nuisance complaints on private property.

The Authorized General Enforcement for Nuisances and Trespassing (AGENT) Program allows businesses and property owners to authorize RCMP and municipal peace officers to act on their behalf when dealing with issues such as trespassing, loitering or other unlawful activity.

Under the program, officers can take action on private property even if the owner or manager is not present.

The city says the program is designed to improve response times for properties that experience recurring concerns, while giving businesses another option to address ongoing issues.

Participation in the AGENT Program is voluntary and free.

Businesses that enroll will receive an identification sticker to place on their property, indicating that RCMP and municipal enforcement are authorized to act as the owner’s representative when enforcing trespassing or nuisance complaints.

Property owners interested in joining the program can complete an authorization form and submit it to the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment at 5106 44 Street.

More information about the program, including registration details, is available at Lloydminster.ca/AGENT.
