A proposed residential housing development in Vermilion is moving to the public stage, with a hearing scheduled later this month on a rezoning bylaw.
Town officials have scheduled a public hearing for Bylaw 3-2026, which would rezone the property at 5417 College Dr. to allow for a six-unit row housing development.
The site is located directly across from the main entrance to the Vermilion Arena, placing it near one of the community’s busiest recreational hubs.

If approved, the change would permit a higher-density residential use on the property, which is currently surrounded by a mix of recreational and residential uses.
The hearing is set for Wednesday, April 22 at 6 p.m. in council chambers at town hall.
Residents who believe they may be affected by the proposal are encouraged to attend the hearing or submit written comments in advance.
Municipal public hearings provide an opportunity for council to hear directly from residents before making a final decision on zoning changes.
Further details, including how to submit comments, are available through the Town of Vermilion website.
