North Battleford RCMP are asking residents near 105 Street to check their security cameras after a 36-year-old man was found injured in an alley and later died in hospital.
Officers responded to reports of an injured male behind a residence on 105 Street at approximately 4 p.m. on April 28. Emergency medical services transported the man to hospital, where he was declared deceased.
Saskatchewan RCMP have identified him as Tyson Mosquito of North Battleford. His family has been notified.
His death is considered suspicious.
Homicide unit takes over
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.
Investigators are asking anyone in the 105 Street area to review home security and doorbell camera footage from between 3:40 p.m. and 4 p.m. on April 28. Anyone whose device captured suspicious activity is asked to contact police immediately.
Police also want to hear from anyone who was with Mosquito in the hours or days before his death.
Increased police presence expected
Residents can expect to see additional officers in the 105 Street area for an undetermined period of time.
Saskatchewan RCMP said no imminent risk to public safety has been identified. Updates will be provided as the investigation advances.
