SUV passenger hospitalized after Highway 17 collision

One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle collision near Lloydminster on Thursday evening.

Maidstone RCMP received a report of a collision between a truck and an SUV at the intersection of Highway 17 and Township Road 490 around 7:10 p.m.

Officers responded along with firefighters from Legacy Protective Services and EMS.

The sole occupant of the truck was assessed by EMS at the scene. The driver of the SUV was also assessed at the scene.

The SUV’s passenger was transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Lanes on the roadway were reduced for about two hours while crews worked the scene according to fire officials.

Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate. K division RCMP and the RM of Wilton Police Service assisted at the call as well.
