Multiple fire departments have been battling a large grassfire about three kilometers northwest of Marsden for the majority of the afternoon.

The original call came in 1:52 p.m. for Neilburg and Marsden Fire Departments to respond for reports of a fire northwest of the corner of Highway 40 and 680.

Incident command then requested Legacy Regional Protective Services for mutual aid shortly after.

Reports are still coming into the newsroom regarding heavy smoke being seen in the area of Unwin.
