RCMP ticket Lloydminster woman after 44 St. collision

A two-vehicle collision in front of the police station on 44 St. slowed the Thursday morning commute in Lloydminster.

It happened shortly after 8 a.m. A red SUV and a larger grey SUV, both travelling east, were involved.

EMS crews were seen treating one person in the red SUV. The extent of the injuries is not known.

The red SUV sustained heavy front-end damage.

Eastbound traffic on 44 St. was reduced to one lane for about 30 minutes while the scene was cleared.

Lloydminster RCMP, community peace officers and Lloydminster Fire Rescue also responded.

A witness told our publication the grey tahoo was stopped in line waiting for the light at 50 Ave. when it was struck. They also noted they heard no attempt to stop.

A 20-year-old Lloydminster woman received a $390 ticket for distracted driving, said RCMP.

BorderPulse received a tip about the collision and went to the scene. This story will be updated when more information is available.
