Lloydminster Fire Rescue stations 1 and 2 as well as command units were called at approximately 3:40 p.m. May 12, for reports of a structure fire on 57 Ave.
Upon arrival at the corner of 57 Ave and 41 street, they located a third floor balcony unit with flames showing from material on the balcony.
Firefighter quickly brought the flames under control. The building was evacuated for the safety of all residents.
Crews proceeded to ventilate the building before residents could return. Chief Bill Heesing said the fire remains under investigation.
“A fire on the balcony is still under investigation,” said Heesing. “We are going to hold the property for 48 hours to complete our investigation.”





There were no reported injuries.
