Charges have been withdrawn against a Lloydminster woman accused of stealing more than $130,000 in cash from an ATM in the border city.
Mandy Bredlaw, 40, was arrested earlier this year and faced charges of break and enter, mischief over $5,000, and theft over $5,000 in connection with an incident on Dec. 29, 2024.
Lloydminster RCMP responded around 10 a.m. that day to a report of a break-and-enter near 39 Avenue and 50 Street on the Alberta side of the city. Investigators determined the ATM had been forcibly accessed and more than $130,000 in cash stolen. Damage and replacement costs for the machine were estimated at nearly $30,000.
The investigation included canvassing nearby businesses for surveillance footage and obtaining numerous judicial authorizations. Officers identified Bredlaw as the suspect through that process.
Alberta court records show Bredlaw was charged with breaking into the Royal Bank, stealing cash from the ATM, and damaging the room door and safe door of the machine. All of those charges have now been withdrawn.
When the Crown withdraws charges, it discontinues the prosecution and those same charges cannot be brought back before the court.
Bredlaw still faces unrelated charges in Calgary. A warrant was issued for her arrest in May after she failed to appear in court. At the time of her Lloydminster arrest, she was also wanted on 26 outstanding warrants in Calgary.
