A North Battleford man wanted on a second-degree murder charge has been arrested following a joint RCMP operation in Cut Knife.
Tyson Cummer, 21, was taken into custody May 2 at a residence in Cut Knife. Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit, Crime Reduction Team and Cut Knife Detachment carried out the arrest together.
Cummer is charged with one count of second-degree murder under Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code in connection with the death of 36-year-old Tyson Mosquito on April 28 in North Battleford.
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on May 4 at 2 p.m.
Saskatchewan RCMP‘s Homicide Investigation Unit had been investigating Mosquito’s death since late April. A warrant for Cummer’s arrest was issued after the charge was laid. Police had asked the public for help locating him and warned against approaching him.
