Headlines:
Hundreds of sports enthusiasts packed the Ex for the annual Lloydminster Gun & Outdoor Sportsman Show, which runs again today.
Wheatland female football had a decent turnout for their first practise yesterday.
Whiteout conditions overnight headed out of town led to travel delays and multiple social media posts advising to reduce speed or stay home.
The winds have died down today, but the roads are worse for wear, more on that in traffic.

Traffic:
Highways through the region are generally considered bare on the Alberta side except in the Dewberry, Clandonald, Islay areas. However everything north and east of us, up to Meadow Lake and over to at least Highway 4 north out of North Battleford is considered snow covered. Strong winds are also reported along the Highway 16 corridor. Take extra time if you are planning to go out this morning.

In town, multiple city streets remain with windrow’s in the centre of them. The City of Lloydminster resumes their street clearing tomorrow in the areas around the Comprehensive High School.

Weather:
Gone is the warm weather from our forecast, today it’s expected to be mainly cloudy with a 30% chance of flurries and a chilly high of -13. Right now it’s -17 feeling like -26 with winds out of the north at 20 km/h.

Sports:
The Lloydminster Bobcats travelled to Camrose. A late power play goal by Raphael Messier with just over five minutes remaining in the third gave the ‘cats a 2-1 victory over the Kodiaks, sweeping the weekend series. They play next Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Olds.
The Lakeland College Women’s Rustlers Hockey Team move to a league leading 16-1 with a 9-0 victory over Olds Colts. Addison Eurich and Keyra Buziak both had hat-tricks in the game. They prepare for a tougher test as the 9 and 9 NAIT Ooks come to town Friday at 7:15 p.m.
The St. Paul Canadien’s defeated the Bandit’s at home last night 8-5. The Bandit’s have a quick turnaround as they take on the Killam Wheat Kings this afternoon at 2:30.
The Calgary Flames defeated the New York Islanders yesterday 4-2 as the kicked off Hockey Day in Canada. The Oilers thumped the Canucks 6-0 to close out the broadcast.
