A statement from RCMP Public Information Officer Sgt. Troy Savinkoff this morning provided more details to the incident.

“Kitscoty RCMP were involved in a collision with a suspect or rammed up while we were in investigating a suspicious vehicle at an oil lease site,” stated Savinkoff. “Minor injuries to the RCMP member and the suspects are in custody.”

When the Border Pulse attended the scene, multiple RCMP officers were on site as part of the ongoing investigation. However, all other emergency agencies had left the area. A white SUV was observed in the west ditch with some apparent damage to the front end.

More information may be made available later today. The incident remains under investigation at this time.

The roadway has since re-opened.
